Patti Murphy grew up on the shores of Georgian Bay, in a little town whose name you probably can’t pronounce, learning early on that reality was just for people who can’t handle their fiction. She left her beloved bay to go do a lot of book learning in Kingston and then Ottawa, eventually entering the family business of teaching. She has taught a little bit of everything – Shakespeare, algebra, sex ed and music to name a few – although, it should be noted, not all at the same time.
She has written extensively for community newspapers, has been published in The Globe and Mail, and has written fiction since she could first hold a pencil.
Patti now lives in a land-locked suburb of Ottawa with her partner and their very fierce little dog, Gavin. She is widely known as being quite witty and a charming dinner party guest. When not writing novels, she likes to play board games and watch British costume dramas.
