Note # 16 – This Is Not a Blog Post

This is just a quick note to say that I haven’t written a witty or meaningful blog post for today because I am hard at work writing my next book The Date Square Dharma. I’m somewhere in what I think will be Chapter Seven, which is entitled How Do You Mend a Broken Heart?  and Olivia is having a huge argument with her mother, which is probably not surprising to any of you who have read The Kitchen Sink Sutra, and which is sort of cathartic because until now, I’ve been writing a lot about grieving and so it’s sort of nice to just take off the gloves and have a good old-fashioned screaming match, albeit in the meditation hall of the Buddhist retreat centre.

Because that’s how I roll.

But I also haven’t written a blog post because I had to prep for a really fantastic Backyard Book Club (shout out to all the smart, beautiful women at Camp Jane!) and we had to take the car in for new tires and apparently the alignment was off and it needed an oil change and some other thing that mostly sounded expensive and then Gavin had a play date with some friends which was lovely but which took much longer than I thought it would and then we ran out of milk for cappuccinos and to be quite honest, I have no idea what we’re having for supper tonight and actually, I really have to get back to Olivia and her mother because I’ve just thought of the next awful, insensitive thing that her mother is going to say.

So, what are you doing today?

P.

P.S. Maybe I should have said, ‘Ceçi n’est pas un blog post?’  Either way, apologies to René Magritte.
